Toolbox dosen't work?

I have tried muliple times useing my toolbox on all these annoying tanktraps and wires but i can't seam to use it. Are the toolbox supposed to be usefulö or is it just there to take up space in your inventory?

I can take down the fencing, but the tank traps are a bit of a mystery to me. I can't seem to locate the pop-up icon to disable them.

I've had no problems getting rid of the tank traps at all. Just put my site on there and used the scroll wheel to get the option.
