AHHH BANDITS/LOOT GOBLINS!!

Recommended Posts

okay so i play as a survivor, and dont really like killing people for no reason, because i like to chat and help out other players, but lately people have been killing me with out warning, even if i say friendly, or go up to them and dont shoot, why?

now im thinking i shouldnt give them a chance and just shoot, because it takes me ours to gain all my equipment, but all i really want to do is go inland, and live off the land, but i cant because of these guys changing my play style, and i dont really wanna shoot people on sight so its a tough decision what to do?

need advice whats your playing style?

I know that feel, bro.

Get yourself inland, work out where the ghillie suit spawns and get one.

I prefer not to kill, but on occassion the 'shoot on sight' policy has to come in when you do the quick DayZ risk/reward/loss sums in your head.

With the ghillie equipped, I've had whole four man teams run right past me while I'm proned and not been fired upon, purely because I'm crazily camouflaged.

Best bet is to always know your surroundings. Be paranoid. Check your six CONSTANTLY (PROTIP: Double tap '-' on keypad for a bit more FOV).

Avoid Cherno and Electro like the plague. Go to Berezhino. Great for low player activity, medical supplies from hospital, two supermarkets, six apartment buildings and military spawns. Travel through the fields in the north/north east for a higher chance of stumbling on a downed chopper.

Don't give away your position unless you have to. If you hear a shot, try to work out the calibre (handy if you end up in a shootout), hide and face the direction of the fire; wait five to ten minutes before moving out.

Gotten myself to Day 10 (new personal best..not brilliant, but still...) with only one 'murder' which was a dude saying "friendly" in Direct then attempting to unload an AK poorly in my direction anyway.

There are good people in this apocalypse, I'm up for helping people out/providing ammo/meds/food etc., but I keep my distance first :)

Good hunting, dude ;)

Never trust anyone. Even if they say they are friendly. Protip: The further north you are, the less likely you'll run into someone who's "friendly". Having said that, unless they are unarmed, I would say shoot first, ask questions later. Otherwise the only question you'll be asking yourself is "Why didn't I shoot first?"
