Is this considered Desync? (Video)

Hey, is that desync or a server problem? That guy was shooting randomly in the air and hit me. I can't use my mosin somehow, maybe my bullets were ruined.

i'd guess lag, since theres no way the bullets loop around the mans rifle and hit you.

Lag in DayZ? No! I´ve never seen something like this before in DayZ!

I remember times where we were fighting for milliseconds in online shooters, optimzing the networking and configs. <20 ms were good, >50 ms really bad. Now we can be happy if we have a delay of <5 seconds.

But i know, everything was better in the past, even the future  :rolleyes:

Desync. Also, there is a glitch right now that prevents you from shooting your gun and requires you to drop it and pick it back up to work. OR He damaged your gun and ruined it and the ammo.

no, if you have ruined ammo or gun, that wont affect the damage you do, just if you can shoot or not, right?

 

thats major desync, some servers just crank up players to 50 though to have a good experience 30 is way more playable

arma 3 wasteland servers have desync like this, to, but ALL THE TIME

Lag/desync whatever you want to call it.  Combination of the server and your connection probably, though more emphasis on the server.

 

This is how basically every encounter on a highly populated server plays out at these distances.  Just take solace in the fact he's probably seeing basically the same thing from you.

I said nothing about the damage being output, I was talking about what happen if the gun/ammo is shot at.

well, if you stay on servers with  30 or 40 player cap that gets a restard every two hours, you should be fine

 

the problem is that the server-client stuff with arma's engine was always a little wonky
