If I make a stash of items out side of a tent or building how long will it last before it disappears?

Also how many spaces do you need in your inventory before you can pick up a tent? and which part of your inventory will the tent go into?

I don't know how long it'll last. A tent takes up 3 slots of your main inventory, that is where you store rifle ammunition, flares, chemlights, food and drink. You can put it in your backpack if you have picked it up into your main inventory first, since it is only picked up by action menu.

K, Thanks. With all the bandits around I'm wondering if its a smart idea to hide your gear (except pistol & pack) just outside a city/town before going in. At least that way if you die you can run back and get your gear. But if it doesn't last at least a couple hours before disappearing it would be too risky. Your gear would be gone.

Forever, or until the main server is reset :). If you die, it lasts 2-3 days, I believe.
