Water Bottles: "Survivors" are extremely underprepared for the end of the world...

Recommended Posts

It seems silly to me that I am supposed to be a survivor of an apocalyptic event, yet I spawn in with no water bottle... I find myself asking how my character survived the initial fall of society if he is so unprepared as to not be carrying a bottle for water... Also, you spawn with no simple waterproof container for drinking water, but for some reason you DO have a box of pharmaceutical grade painkillers.. I don't know about you guys, but water bottles are a lot easier for me to just find on the ground. hell, they wash up on our beaches daily!

If you can't start with a water bottle, then at least make water sources fill your thirst meter by drinking straight from them. Being able to drink from a pond or a well seems fair enough without a bottle, since you had to find the source in the first place, and I've been able to cup water into my mouth with my hands since I was like, three years old. The benefit of the bottle then would be that you could carry another drink with you for the road, in case you get thirsty and are a long way from any sources.

Either the above, or water bottles just need to be laying all over everything, since in the world I find myself living in, damn near every container I can see has a lid, and can hold water, not to mention the fact that any trashcan is going to have about a doze empty plastic water bottles in it at any given time.

Yeah I agree with your idea. I think that spawning with a canteen or water bottle makes a lot of sense in an apocalypse. +1!

Agree.

Something that can store water should be incredibly common. You could have a system where something like a military or hiking flask is a very convenient way to do it, but it shouldn't be the only way you can do it. Not to mention being able to drink directly from the source.
