how do you join friends?

ok guys so my friends are playing dayz and i want to join, i go to steam click join game and it says server not responding. am i doing something wrong? how can i fix this or is there another way to join? thanks in advance

well you'd start up dayz, refresh servers, click the friends tab and then click on the server they are playing on right?

I usually just right click on their name from my Steam friends list and click Join, it will auto-start DayZ and bring me into the appropriate server

when i right click i dont see join games? where are you in steam when you do this, also are you on steam browser or in application you installed

Some games, like DayZ, don't have complete Steam integration, so you can't view game/server info. You should be able to click the little v arrow next to their name and select Join Game that way and it will work. Or, like suggested, check the server browser in game and see where your friends are playing and join manually. Another option is to hit shift+tab to bring up the steam overlay while in game and use the v arrow > Join game. Good luck.

try changing your server filters to remove the ping filter, your friends servers won't show up in your friends list if (at the point the master server database is queried) the servers ping exceeds your filter settings.

Easiest way is to not open the game launch steam. Go to your friends that are playing right click and select join game. Takes u right into the game they are in
