therockgaming 17 Posted May 5, 2014 The DayZ development team has emplaced some features that deter players from server hopping, but it continues to happen and ruins the immersion of the game. This was my experience with it earlier today:http://youtu.be/UJFrqsKJjsc

nexventor 429 Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) Ok first things first, adjust your mouse sensitivity you have it to high. You keep over shooting your desired location. Secondly you had more than enough opportunity to kill all three of those guys. And thirdly, you complain about ruining immersion and yet use 3PP and wall glitching? LOL! This was my experience with it earlier today:http://youtu.be/UJFrqsKJjsc Server hoppers are ridiculous. The timer is doing well to an extent, and I imagine they are working to fix this permanently. On an unrelated note, War Damn Eagle my good sir, War Damn Eagle.

LOL!I can't disagree with anything you said. I guess you're right, immersion wasn't th-pe thing that bothered me the most; it was the fact that I reconed the area before moving in and saw there was no one near the Airfield. Once I get there, there are players spawning in left and right... how can I make a sound, tactical decision with these mechanics in place? This is what upset me the most. Also, I definitely noticed how high my mouse sensitivity was, but I was playing on such a low-populated server that I didn't take the time to correct it. This isn't end game, frustrating yes but it will be fixed. While there is no respawning of loot of course there is going to be server hoppers. As it currently stands, first person into a freshly restarted server gets pick of the gear. Tell me how is that fair? If I finish work and get home only to find that all populated servers were restarted 3 hours ago my chances of gearing up become extremely slim while you can be damn sure there are plenty of kitted up players on the server, my chances of survival are even slimmer. It leaves very little choice. The issue I saw from your perspective was people logging "IN" the airfield buildings and the only way to teach them a lesson not do that, is by killing them. EDIT: I wish that they make it impossible to log in and out in high populated PvP areas but I doubt that will happen. Edited May 5, 2014 by NexVentor

Making it impossible to log out in "military areas" would detract from server hopping. And yes, one of the answers to server hopping is killing them, but how many times did they server hop before this happened? The two that ran into the ATC up to where the guy with the orange jacket was logged as soon as I started shooting; they didn't learn anything other than the effectiveness of combat logging, but that opens a whole other can of worms. I think my Leg is Broken 46 Posted May 5, 2014 Hmm. Why were you on such a low population server in the first place? Probably doing exactly the same thing as everyone else who was logging in there. Easy loot. Also, as mentioned, wall peeking. Shame on you.
nexventor 429 Posted May 5, 2014 they didn't learn anything other than the effectiveness of combat logging, but that opens a whole other can of worms. No cause you failed to kill them. When they log out, you have 30 seconds, should it be longer yes but you were within 50 metres of them, they should have all died. It really doesn't matter how many servers they have hopped before, in fact the more the better. That means you just wasted even more of their time and now they have to do it all over again. Now when do we start discussing wall glitching and 3PP lol.
king_of_the_beans 92 Posted May 5, 2014 3 things I noticed. 1. You missed 9 great opportunities to take those guys out. (counted) 2. You are either wearing a invisibility cloak or the guys were blind because you were sticking out like a sore thumb. 3. You were just asking for trouble going up there out numbered.
