Recently been getting worse FPS than in the past?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone help would be appreciated btw.

So I used to play DayZ a lot about 4/5 months ago, approx. When I used to play it I used to get fine fps and no troubles. Then recently I wanted to start playing it again and I've been riddled with errors getting the game to work and when I do get on servers I'm getting 12fps at best regardless of whether i'm in a city. However I did play one Taviana server and had fine FPS (like what i used to get on all servers). Any help or tips would be very much appreciated.

My specs aswell:

AMD fx-4100 quad core 3.6GHz

only 4gb of ram

Nvidia gtx 750ti 2gb

windows 7 32-bit (hence the 4gb of ram, it caps out at 4)

And as i said; used to run like a charm. Also since then, I've got a new graphics card!! one far good enough for arma, i get very high fps on high end games like bf3.

Your RAM should be fine since arma2 uses only 2 MB.

How many FPS do you have when you join a regular ArmA 2 multiplayer mission on the Chernarus map?

Which dayzmod did you try? Vanilla DayZ or Epoch?

FPS depends also on how many players/vehicles/loot are there on the server on the same time.

You should try also to change some graphical parameters in the options.

I've tried most mods; vanilla, epoch, origins etc. I played on a normal Arma 2 server and fps still was bearable, better than DayZ. Do you know if in recent updates if there's anything that could be interfering with arma like a compatability error or such.

The different mods are more and more demanding. If I understand you, all these mods are lagging.

Search and open your arma2oa.rpt, see at the end if you see tons of 'parameter undefined' kind-of errors. These logs make your pc lag a lot. so you should install the beta patch version the devteam recommend, so that all these bugs are not logged.

Try also other servers such us3480 or mines. I would like to know if you have the same problems.

Beta patch recommended : USE THIS ARMA 2 OA BETA: 103718

Log file is usually there: c:/Users/**yourLogin**/AppData/Local/ArmA 2 OA/arma2oa.RPT

How many FPS do you have when the menu is opened?

I couldn't find that file, when I get to my login (I'm admin on the pc) there's no appdata folder, any other way i can get to this file. I installed the beta patch and I'm running operation arrowhead from the 'expansion/beta/arma2oa.exe' I created a shortcut. when i'm on the arma 2 oa menu i get in between 20-110 fps, usually it's around 90fps, i usually get 7/8 fps on dayz mod.

I have tried playing the arma2oa campaign missions, still just getting around 10-12 fps! Any other clues? could it be a compatability issue? People with far far worse setups than mine get far higher fps, and i get a solid 60 fps on better games like bf3. Since I used to play dayZ i did update my BIOS so i could run valve steam games like cs go without a compatability issue, could that BIOS update be what cause it?

Ah okay so it's not a mod issue.

The problem is much more on the graphic card setup or its parameters. Try to update your drivers to the latest one and try to tweak some parameters in Arma video options. It's quite a common problem and you can find a lot of other clues by readings other threads in dayzmod forum.

hey, was actually about to post about having the same problem, dayz used to run well, no matter what sub mod i played, now i get 10 fps and sometimes dropping lower, and doesnt matter if im in a forest, in elektro or anywhere in between, doesnt matter if i look straight at a city or down on the ground, doesnt even change if i alter the graphics down from high to very low.  something is definitely wrong

one thing i noticed tonight though, i was on dayzrp, and standing withing 25 meters of about 8 or 9 guys, and the frames were suffering bigger drops, yet my internet connection is still fine

over the past 2 years ive installed many dayz mods, as well as a few arma mods, aswell as uninstalled them/deleted the addons for it. could it be that theres just alot of junk built up somewhere, and i should do a fresh reinstall of arma and dayz?
