Im unable to kill anyone

for my last 3 lives i have being killed even though i was the one who got off the first shots. My first life i was about 4 ft behind someone with an enfield and my shots did nothing he just turned and one shotted me with his enfield. My next life i found a pdw (uzi) and i unloaded a whole clip into one person standing still it did nothing he then shot me once with an ak74m and i died. My life before that i was hiding behind a car when a man ran from behind a building followed by several zombies i shot the man 7 times with my m1911 but it did nothing and he then one shotted me with a pistol. In all 3 of these events i was on well above 10,000 blood and i was just wondering whether im having bad luck or if my character is bugged or something all 3 lives were on the latest beta patch servers and another thing i want to mention is that my direct chat does not work no matter how close to someone i am, anyone else having things like this happen to them. (my chat haunt worked since the patch before this one, i have looked at tutorials on how you should install the beta patch and i have done it right i have even uninstalled the whole game and re-downloaded it and when i re-installed the beat oatch i had the problem again

The netcode in this game seems absolutely horrible to me, honestly. Sometimes it feels like it's a complete crapshoot whose bullets will register in a firefight, it's almost better to just sneak away (but way more boring). Hopefully it's just a problem with the mod which will eventually be sorted, and not a problem with ARMA 2 itself. I haven't tried the vanilla game yet so I don't know what the lag is like there.

Anyway, there are numerous PK montages on YouTube where you can clearly see people shooting one another at close range with AKMs and other guns that are supposed to kill in 1-2 hits, yet the other guy will take 5 or 6 before he finally goes down. I've even seen several where they'll come up behind a crouched player looting stuff and start unloading into their back point blank, and the other player will manage to turn around and pop a shot off before they go down.

Are you checking your latency on these servers? If your running at 150-200... and they are say 20-70 then yes could be your lag... are the servers near you?

PDW does take a few shots lol... Yesterday I did a mercy kill for a guy with a broken leg after he asked me so I put my DMR away and pulled out the PDW and aimed point blank at his head with 20-30latency and bam... still alive.. bam.. still alive... wtf.. bam bam.. passed out still alive.. finaly 5th shot in head he died.

Ive learned shoot... then shoot some more if your gonna shoot someone... Only time I get single shot kills is Sniping with a headshot. Ive died quite a few times and one time I still recall was when I was being stalked towards a barn.. I ran in one side and flanked around the outside came in behind took aim with my Mak and emptied it into his head them to my dismay I got 1 shot killed by his Mak... sometimes things are just screwy.
