Today similar designs are used for fuel and water containers, some of which are also produced in plastic. The designs usually emulate the original steel design and are still known as jerrycans. Generally their use is denoted by the coloring, and occasionally, imprinted labeling on the container itself. This is to prevent the mixture of different fuels, as well as preventing water containers from being contaminated with fuel or vice versa. They can usually hold up to 5 gallons or more.

A canteen is a drinking water bottle designed to be used by hikers, campers, soldiers and survivors in the field. Usually hold 32oz and 64oz

I would like to see us be able to fill Jerry Cans with water, More h2o means more liquids to keep a survivor hydrated

Considering all Jerry Cans in this game are implied to be for fuel, I would say no.

Green Gasoline (unleaded)

Yellow Diesel

Blue Kerosene

Tan, Light Blue or Black Water (usually labeled)

You already use them when they are filled with fuel for the vehicles, Why not have a big water supply

I already stockpile liquids as is , I was just thinking along the lines of a rare H2o Jerry Can to combat the several sodas I carry around on my character daily. Maybe not every Jerry Can being able to be filled with water just a couple or a rare one.

I would be all for this as soon as weight is added to items. Then it be a realy interesting thing to have somebody carry that jerrycan and have people on a longer water supply... but untill weight it added this just gives an OP water advantage ...

Many years ago as a young private, I tried to fill up a plastic jerry can maked fuel with water. That was not a fun afternoon for me.

I actually would think it would be pretty cool to fill up jerry cans with water and leave them at your camp. Or you could go a step further and make it to where if you set an empty jerry can out in the rain then after a certain amount of time it will fill up with drinking water. Granted all of this would make us less dependent on drinking water, so to counter it I would make it so the only clean water you get is from collecting rain with jerry cans, and from pumps/wells. water from ponds and lakes would have to be boiled over a fire, or purified using tablets.

Well Jerry cans take up 3 slots in inventory. Just remembet that ..but if you where to use those 3 slots for water canteens that would allow you to drink 3 times ..so as jerry can can hold more ...it should take up 3 slots and can be used to drink 5 times before it runs empty ? who knows :P Good idea and should add a little more deepth to the game.

Just remember that ..but if you where to use those 3 slots for water canteens that would allow you to drink 3 times ..so as Jerry can can hold more ...it should take up 3 slots and can be used to drink 5 times before it runs empty ? who knows :P Good idea and should add a little more depth to the game.

I agree since it takes up multiple slots it should have several drinks. Glad you like the idea
