I had something I wanted to add to this but I totally forgot what it was...

I'll be sure to post it when I remember it but in the mean time, definitely a good idea!

Havent read every comment but what if the time delay for recognition varied over distance. As in real life if you saw someone in the trees 100 metres away you could easily spend 10 seconds trying to work out if you recognised them, but if you walk round a corner and are face to face then you'd instantly recognise them and the name would appear instantly.
