Broken Bones And No Morphine

Recommended Posts

Make a post on the forum about it, i.e. survivor HQ and ask for a trade. Hopefully you'll get help from a trustworthy bunch of lads!

In the future I'd recommend trying to get hold of one or two shots of morphine early so you got less to risk, slipping into a bigger city on a quick trip.

Don't make broken bones repair after a few minutes. Make it like an hour or two.

1: Combine wood with bandages to make splints. Allows the user to walk or crouch run. Unable to sprint.

2: Leg will heal over a couple of hours.

3: Morphine and pain killers when used with a splint will provide a momentary respite from the pain allowing the user to sprint.

4: Let us make wooden wheelchairs so people can hate us for rollin'.

EDIT: How Day Z plays out with a broken leg.

I actually like this idea xD

The fact that morphine "fixes" a broken bone is ludicrous. Yes, mophine can help you block out the pain of the broken limb, but it sure as hell doesn't magically weld your bones back together. In fact, running on an unsupported broken leg (with or without morphine) would ruin any chance of that limb healing correctly.

A splint needs to be added to the game. Using bandages + splint would let you repair a broken bone, but for 24 hours, you can only walk, no running at all. If you had morphine, you could then use it to allow your character to run again.

Splints could be more common than morphine, but require a much longer time to administer.

Edit: Crap, someone beat me to it by a few minutes.

I don't know if you people realise this' date=' but I can't move at all considering I can't crawl up or down the stairs...

[/quote']

Actually you can...crawl all the way up to the stairs and try to stand up while holding forward. You will fall onto the stairs and then you can crawl. Sometimes it takes a few tries, but it will work.

When I'm playing and down to one or no morphine/bandages, the only thing I'm trying to do is get more. Looks like you just need to get your priorities straight. Going for military loot when you need hospital gear.. your fault dawg.

I don't mind the broken legs mechanic, but I don't think it should be in the game in the current form until they fix the bugs that cause the random broken bones.

Makes sense: Falling, being hit by an axe or crowbar

Doesn't make sense: Getting melee attached without it being an axe or a crowbar, walking next to a tree, walking on a rock, getting shot (unless it's a rare rare shot that happen to hit a bone)

Was shot by a Makarov in the arm earlier (as thats where the blood was pissing from) and ended up with a broken leg. Yet the guy who shot me had taken six axe strikes to the legs and back yet DIDN'T have his legs broke.

Getting fed up with this mechanic, as I lost a lot of good gear last night for straying too close to a tree which broke my leg and then killed me....

Before you go north or anywhere, morphine should be your number 1 priority, if you did not go to get it then tough.

Yeah i've read your entire post OP, and I can understand why you want your own bone to heal so you don't have to lose your gear. Well I have to say this, you went to the NWAF without any medical supplies? Are you retarded? Do you not know how to play this game? You obviously have played enough to know where the NWAF is but yet you decided to forget about how easy your bones break now? Its been like this for 3-4 weeks. I'm sure that bizon sd that you rushed north for is really worth it when your laying in the air control tower with no morphine.

You need to get your priorities straight, if you played the game properly Rocket wouldn't have to change the mechanics for just you!

You need med supplies? GO TO A FREAKING HOSPITAL? Eh? Novel Idea...

I visited a hospital many times to try and find morphine before the ninja zombies broke my legs, no morphine at all. Got myself every single toolbelt item, but no morphine.

I don't have an issue with broken bones, in fact I think it's a great mechanic, but morphine does need to actually spawn....

It's not just me either, the 3 people I play with haven't seen any morphine for a while also. if in our combined game time no one sees any morphine at all, maybe the spawn rate needs to be tweaked.

The first time I broke my leg in the game, which happened from a door closing on it, my first thought was, "How do I make a splint?"

Captain' date=' use some imagination, in life you would make a cart, or some trash to haul those heavy items... not exactly an easy thing to implement, at least in a decent fashion.

However you wanting to pull some Super Hero heal broken bones and regain blood (Health) is straight bulllll. LoL

[/quote']

Realism is the poorest excuse to add or remove things from a zombie survival game (keyword zombie).

In real life if you break a bone no amount of morphine is going to heal it.

In real life basically anything can be made into a makeshift splint that is going to be 100x better than morphine.

If you don't want something in the game for a valid reason that's fine but "realism" is not the trump card to answer every discussion of game mechanics.

I thought morphine infinitely spawned in the boxes in the hospital? If you can't see it make sure you've picked up everything off the ground around the box or it won't open.
