No DayZ for 2 weeks + now.

I am not really new to this but I am completely and utterly frustrated with trying to get this stuff working properly.

first off the BattleEye version in game shows 1.60 and shows I have 1.60 but will not allow me to join the majority of servers. Upon connecting attempts a SHITTY error shows up saying I have the wrong version and shows some 1.6.9237232345234234234 random numbers or something. SO I take it upon myself to try and update battleEye in steam guess what? I fucking can't. Downloaded the new updater does nothing and I continue to get this message:

MISSING STRING!

So at this point I have no idea what to do. I have even attempted to reinstall ARMA 2 files in steam and nothing works. I would like to get back in the game. It is so frustrating I am pretty sure my face will end up through my monitor by the end of the week.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Your problem is not an out of date BattlEye it is an out of date Arma 2.

Download the latest beta patch.

Download and install beta patch from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php (Latest patch is in the green field top of page)

If you are met with a "Password screen" then choose the top version on page (Not in the green field)

Go to the Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead directory (for example C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead) and right-click -> edit on .cmd file "_runA2CO_beta.cmd". Search for ":run" near the end of the file. Add ";@dayz" without quotes to "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca".

Run "_runA2CO_beta.cmd" and enjoy playing!

You may create a new shortcut to "_runA2CO_beta.cmd"

NOTE: Remember to install DayZ MOD before launching the game!

You would think Arma2 would update automatically within Steam or are these non official patches?

Btw thanks guys ill give this a try.

EDIT: Updated the most recent beta patch as instructed, BattleEye still missing string. (BAD SERVER VERSION) "1.60 " so I do not see what the goddamn issue is. It's doing the exact same thing it has been for 2 weeks FUCKING UP. beta update 1.60.93666 is nowhere to be had. Every time I install it says 1.60.

Fixed it needed to copy over all the beta files and the exe into the existing folder. Ran the game as CO in steam bam it worked.
