Arma 2 OA has encountered a problem and needs to close.

So, I've had and been enjoying day Z with no problems for a relatively long time, probably since last summer. I was running and playing it just fine through commander and RAMDISK. After not going on for 2 or so months I decided to go back on only to play for 30 seconds, and the textures glitch out, then I get a message saying "Arma 2 OA has encountered a problem and needs to close" and the usual Microsoft error report.

I can't figure out why it isn't working, I've tried playing with the settings, to no avail, I've verified the integrity of Arma 2 and OA (all legitimately purchased through steam), but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have tried uninstalling everything and starting again but it still happens.
