fps for me

Recommended Posts

I just look around at all the people whining about 30 fps, while I play at between 8 and 15 usually and have no problems. For me, more than 15 fps is really great and I love it. Do people really need 30+ frames a second to play? I took out a squad last night with a friend and we both got 12ish frames a second in the server. Thanks for reading, please let me know how you play and what you think is a reasonable frame rate. I am curious as to the common thoughts on lag/ fps in this fast paced game

Up untill this past weekend i was playing on what amounts to an upgraded min-Spec office machine with a HD 5770. total cost with upgradeas around 8-900 USD and would avreage 15 FPS in the SA, maybe 20-25 min the Mod. you can definately play at low FPS if your accustomed to it, However the minute you get used to playing glassy smooth at 60+ on a current gen quad and high end GPU you'll wonder how the heck you managed to do anything without it.

That said, the game still gets random pop-in and stutter even on a ~4k USD build

Yeah, 15 fps is very smooth for me, I play on a 500$ PC, but it has decent radeon graphics and amd processor

Are you sure you're getting 15 FPS? You say its smooth, but anything under 30 isn't very smooth if you ask me. I normally get 30-60 FPS, but sometimes I get below 20 FPS in some of the more busy cities and it is annoying to play with. I play on a rig thats probably around $800 USD, with a FX-8150, HD7950, 8g 1600mhz RAM, and a 60g SSD for windows and DayZ.

I usually average about 25 FPS on every server I play on. Obviously some are way better than others. When I drop down to about 12-13 FPS, that is when I start complaining because it starts getting choppy. Scientists claim the eye can only detect up to 30 FPS so anything above that, it wont be a significant difference other than the game will run a lot smoother. Really its what you can handle. If I am on a server where I only average 15 FPS, I usually find a new one because I can easily find ones where I average 25+ FPS.

I don't play unless I don't have more than 60 fps

I would throw my computer in the trashcan if I got 15

Well it isn't like a HD movie, but 15 fps is not choppy and it looks smooth and is definitely playable. Below 10 fps looks a bit laggy

A smooth 15fps can be a better experience than a bad 30 fps. However the difference you will 'feel' between a smooth 15, 30, and 60 are definitely noticeable.

I for one can tell the difference between 30 and 60+ FPS.

Some nice info.
