Internet crash upon load in Day Z mod

My friend use to play dayz with me awhile back. He decided he wanted to try it again and updated his day z commander. We found a server to play on and I logged in and waited for him. When he was just about done loading in his internet crashed. After it started working again he tried to log in once more and it crashed again. Is there a way to fix this? he played it before without any issues and now all of a sudden its crashing his whole internet upon loading into the game. (Also he logged into a server without it crashing 2 days ago. But it crashes now witch is weird. I personally have no issues with the server's that we tried that he crashed on). We play epoch
