Direct Chat and names - Not sure if bug..

I've had two people so far come up to me and call me by my character's name, but I'm not sure how they knew it.

I never see name popups on other people when they talk, and I haven't seen a HUD/name in a very long time (server setting?)

Switching channels between direct/group doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Anyway, I'd like to know how to find the name of someone you come across, and how someone might know your name when you haven't said anything or given them any indication.

Regular difficulty servers give you name when you mouseover the person. Most servers aren't cause SO HARDCORE.

Sometimes (not sure if this is a bug or not) but on servers that don't show you the players name by default when you mouse over them, if you MOUSEWHEEL them, you'll see their name.

Hmm, might have to try the mousewheel thing.

I was able to see the name when inspecting a corpse, maybe that's what they did? That's in the mousewheel menu, now that I think about it.
