Buying/renting a server questions.

I want to get a server, I see servers with passwords, old versions, the limit 1 to 50 player.

Was wondering who are the typical server providers if there is, don't mind about price just as long as it works.

In the rules, it says 40 is the minimum slot, but I see loads and loads of servers with less than 40 people, I would like this, is it possible?

I am terrible with computers so running a server would be a hard thing for me to learn to do, I am wondering if it is possible to literally rent a server, then be able to have it up and working by the providers?

(Do I have to go in to files and stick files here and there?)

Hello Mr Trust,

The Dev team has stated to the hosters that 40 slots is the required minimum for servers. Some of the servers you see are non-compliant and will run into trouble sooner or later, others are not whitelisted and even more are being grandfathered into the 40 slot minimum.

As for heavily managed servers, check out www.vilayer.com and order an ArmA 2 DayZ server from the gameservers page. When ordering use 15%dayz as a discount code and you will get 15% off :)

Vilayer manages servers, sets them up and pushes updates automatically. All you have to do is change a few naming and difficulty settings and restart the server.

If in germany go to www.datafabrik.de and say Fabian told you this ... this team is hosting dedicated servers and i manage these servers for you ... the server from the smalest one are able to handle about 60 people easily :) for questions write me a pm

Shame, was hoping for a little server, or single player, a shame to have fun surviving realistic then getting shot for no reason at all other than blood lust.
