Worth the money?

Recommended Posts

I can't make my mind up wether I want to but Arma 2:CO or not (for DayZ), this game looks awesome but as i've seen from gameplay its best to work in a team but none of my friends have this game and I dont know if i can find anyone I can trust.

Is it worth buying the game if I would end up playing on my own?

thanks,

sorry if its wrong place to post this i couldn't make up my mind on where to put it.

I play it on my own. and I enjoy it. Its fun and you move faster when you dont have to wait for others.

Buying Arma 2: CO should be a decision based on the actual game itself at this stage. Day Z is fun, but a lot of people who have bought Arma 2 specifically for Day Z have become disappointed in the state of the mod and gotten all malcontent and such, believing their purchase was a waste. Arma 2 is a fine game as it is with loads of content. Buy it for that.

Regarding finding fellow survivors, there's a board for that here called Survivor HQ where some people join up. I'm fortunate to have a small group of IRL friends who play together.

You should wait for the upcoming Steam summer sale, you'll probably get at least 25% off even if you don't wait for it to be on the super daily sales.

Buy Arma2:CO for Arma2:CO. DayZ is just a good bonus!

Dont listen to this man. DayZ should be a game on its own. Just like any shitty game zombies makes it 10 times better.

It's 20 bucks. Do you even need to think about this?

False.

$30.

OT:

Yes it's worth it. Having even three hours of fun is enough.

Think of it as $10/hr.

Whatever 30 or 20. Same difference. If you have a machine capable of running this game, then it's WWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLL worth 50 dollars, 40, 60, 90, 20 whatever. Or go buy Diablo 3 for 80 bucks and turn your brain off.

I play it solo (although I'm trying to meet up with some friends) and I am enjoying the game quite a bit.

You get out, what you put into it. If you want a fast PvP game, you'll get bored/frustrated. If you want a PvE game, you'll get bored/frustrated. If you want a PvP + PvE game, you'll get bored/frustrated.

But if you want a game where you spend HOURS slowly getting invested in some marginal piece of gear, then start jumping at shadows because you are so afraid that a PLAYER is hunting you, only to stumble over a bug, break your leg, and then CRAWL for 2 HOURS to reach a town and PRAY that there is some goddamed morphine there, only to get eaten by a zombie (who may or may not be glitching through walls/obstacles/magically appearing out to no where) and forced to start over on the coast with NOTHING, then DayZ is for you. You'll love it. I know I do.

Yeah... Buy the game for the game itself and not just for DayZ. While I personally think DayZ is great you may not think so once you try it. ArmA 2 on the other hand is a great game in itself. There is no other game with the game play ArmA 2 offers. DayZ is just icing on the ArmA 2 cake. You have to also consider that DayZ is very much a work in progress. The DayZ we are playing right now could be drastically different than the DayZ we will be playing in the coming months. This mod will change drastically before it's done.

$30, 350 hours of game play.

That.s $0.08 per hour for the best game I've ever played.

The original game is way better than DayZ, never buy any game because of a mod, things like this change with time, but the original game wich is awesome dont. When all this hippie about DayZ goes down you will want to try other mods or play OA in servers.

Yeah! Totally. It's not like some of the best games of the last decade started out as mods or anything.

It is an amazing mod, one which you should get, but never come on these forums, complaining about how you wish to have a refund because dayz sucked. Arma 2: CO is a pack of two games which, standing alone, are awesome. Even if you come to dislike Dayz (Which you will not, Dayz is epic), remember that you did buy Arma 2: CO, not Dayz.
