Anyone know what this could be?

So lately every time I've been playing and zoomed in the game makes a weird sound and it starts lagging.  This happens every time.  Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

When it zooms it has to render more stuff compared to what it did before.

 Bad graphic cards and slow fps maybe?

I have a GTX 670.  I don't know how that fairs with this game.
