I would seriously not recommend that you spend any money buying the game with that system. Upgrades are also extremely costly, difficult, and useless for laptops, really- so i would just suggest saving for a desktop PC instead of anything else. However, you can try to run arma 2 free and see how it runs.

While there are some gaming laptops worth looking into if mobility is of utter importance ( but are also in the sphere of 1k and up ) most laptops are only good enough for office work.

Unfortunately the lenovo g475 is so underpowered that not only will it not run dayz but it'll struggle at office work too...now that's something...

( apologies for the jab, its not directed at you and I'm just thinking aloud at how pathetic some hardware can still be in this day and age )

Can you stretch your budget to something like this?

EDIT as the poster above me correctly pointed out you can not upgrade a laptop ( aside of HDD and CPU in which case CPU will cost as much as 1/2 the laptop )

Even a desktop PC would be closer to the price of the laptop as per the link above - around £500 mark. Performance wise however, a desktop PC would still crush ( outperform ) any laptop much higher in price any day of the week and is why desktops are better choice for gaming as well video and picture editing. Desktops parts can also be easily upgradeable, unlike laptops.

However if the only game that is being played is a dayz, spending money on gaming desktop may not be the ideal solution either though.

Have you considered building your own PC?

I run DayZ mod/standalone very well maxed out on all graphics options apart from anti aliasing.

1GB Sapphire HD 7770 OC
I5 2500k
LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x DVD±R
Fractal Design Core 1000
500W Storm Silent LPJ19-25
MSI H61M-P31 (G3) Motherboard
6GB Corsair Value DDR3 PC3-10600 (1333)
500GB Seagate ST500DM002 Barracuda SATA 6Gb/s, 7200rpm
Windows 7 64BIT Professional

All of the above cost me around £400. It's surprisingly simple to put a PC together as well!

The above specs are based on this PC build by Jackfrags albeit I tweaked mine a bit:
