Let respawning be available at anytime for alpha.

Multiple times I would see people complaining about bugs where there character is stuck between a couple of rocks and can't get out, they get stuck inside the un-enterable rooms of a building

 

Also this happened to me where I was spawned in the middle of the ocean as a new spawn far from any land in sight.

 

Anyways if there is a bug that got me trapped and I can't get out it is a shame that I can't play the game and I have to spend hours with DayZ on to kill my self due to starvation.

 

Of course let it be available only for alpha in the time being and not the actual release of the game.

I agree. At this phase, I believe we shouldn't be playing the game as if it doesn't have any flaws so I think having a respawn feature would be great since there are issues where players can be stuck in objects around the map. (Such as rocks.. They're a nuisance)

as much as this would benefit some people, others would be respawning constantly to get a good spawn or close enough to run back to where they died. and also loading the server with dead bodies, even though they disappear quickly

 

saying that, played last night, logged off on roof of apartments, log back in and im under the 1st floor, im healthy so starvation is a long way off, so i drank all my disinfectant hoping it will kill me instantly, didnt, just got sick, so i switched to a hardcore server to continue

Perhaps there could be a way to add a timer on each respawn time (Such as half an hour before doing it again)

THIS WORKS EVERY SINGLE TIME

 

If you are stuck under a building or on something or in rocks.

 

When logging in to a server Spam W and V key. You will desync through the wall or obstacle.

a cumulative timer could work, but sometimes a person only needs one respawn to get to where they wanna be

 

shaeg - will try that next im on, thanks :)  .....I probably shouldn't of drank all that disinfectant now lol

Even so when Rocket said that he was going away from DayZ what did he do, he just let the problem subside and didn't really say much after that. Once this mechanic is taken away people will complain sure but it will subside in a week or less.

This, very few people actually treat DayZ as an alpha. This will be treated as a fundamental feature if implemented now.

No respawning and remove fall damage for the first hour of a players life.

 

Anything that helps stop player suicide.

They should make it so you have to leave your menu open for like 5 minutes straight and not move your character, then you can respawn.  If you close the menu/move, it resets the timer.

So if you're stuck, you open the menu and wait and respawn.  This will help mitigate respawning just to suicide (that's all that's going to happen if you implement respawn at any time) and be pretty much only useful if you're stuck.

Definitely not for stable but I think this could be a good idea specifically for experimental servers. Same with the log-off timer unless of course those two things are currently being tested on experimental.

When you respawn it places a load on the hive, so to combat that, its harder than pressing "respawn" to die.
