Idea for spawning weapons

Gun, chance of spawning parts (M4 and other guns with parts)

10%- all parts are pristine

20% - half/some parts ruined (other parts badly damaged, damaged) [no pristine and worn parts]

20% - half/some parts pristine (other parts worn, damaged) [no ruined and badly damaged parts]

50% - random selection between worn, damaged and badly damaged parts

 

Weapons without parts

8% - pristine

18% - worn

44% - damaged

22% - badly damaged

8% - ruined

 

Gun spawning (Magazine-gun ratio 3:1)

15% Sporter

20% SKS

13% M4

15% Mosin

12% Blaze

25% Shotgun

 

Pistol spawning (Magazine-pistol ratio 4:1)

15% M1911

18% FNX

15% Amphibia

30% CR75

22% Magnum

Don't know we should worry about these spawning rates with new guns on the lineup soon and obviously plenty more in the long run.

The spawning isn't even based on a percentage total of 100%, it just rolls based on all of the values entered.

For example;

{"weapon_akm","weapon"},

{"weapon_m4a1","weapon"},

{"weapon_mosin9130","weapon"},

{"weapon_sks","weapon"},

{"weapon_blaze95","weapon"},

{"weapon_ruger1022","weapon"},

{"weapon_izh43","weapon"},

{"weapon_ak74","weapon"},

{"weapon_aks74u","weapon"},

{"weapon_deathray","weapon"},

{"weapon_bananapeel","weapon"},

would be tied to; {0.04,0.01,0.05,0.04,0.03,0.05,0.06,0.05,0.03,100,0.100}

 

Yes, I took this directly from the config, nothing edited.

I'm not only talking about spawn rates, but also about the weapon quality and the magazine ration, because it's really bad right now. (more guns than magazines)

True.

I do like the idea of having guns whose parts having varying conditions (Although it would be very odd to find a pristine M4 with a ruined stock.)

What I'd really like is for guns to spawn with attachments already on them, albeit more rarely (or without certain base parts)

Not true at all.

 

Drop a weapon on its stock, batter a few zombies in the head with the stock, take a 9mm bullet to the stock. None of that damages the rest of the weapon and would all happen in the Zapocalypse

True, but it'd have to have blood on it, and a bullet hole in it.

Also, since you can't actually bludgeon zombies with a weapon as of yet, it would be odd, I wouldn't really associate it with that.

You're really grasping for straws, there. There's no point in changing the "destroyed" texture to reflect how something was ruined.

I was just implying for your specific scenario. I don't actually think there is a need for that kind of thing, but simply that it's kind of a stretch to use that to justify an almost entirely pristine gun save for the ruined stock.

That isn't implying.

It isn't a stretch. It's the apocalypse. You found a gun in the trunk of a rusted, shot-up car; why wouldn't some of it be damaged? It's a stretch to say there's 100's of free M4s and plenty of ammo all over Cherno, but y'know what? There are.

It is implying, I was the one who said it; I know what I meant.

And I'm not saying having a gun with damaged parts is a strech, I'm saying finding a completely pristine gun with a ruined stock is sort of odd. I meant on the extreme level.

It'd be just as odd to find a completely ruined M4 save for the handguard which is still pristine.
