[FIXED] Bad Serial Key / Wrong CD-Key

So my Steam update my ArmA2 OA. I hopped on through Dayz Commander and when i joined a server, it said my version, server rejected. So i attempted to update through DayZ commander and i get an error saying exactly : "The Version of ArmA2 OA (1.63) is more recent than this patch version (1.62)." When i hit "ok" i get another error stating "Wrong CD KEY." I cannot get on any server at all :( Please help!

• Go start menu select run
• Type in regedit hit enter.
• Select local machine hit control F.
• Search Arma OA
• Delete the Arma OA in bohemia interactive and bohemia interactive studios folders.
• Launch steam as admin.
• Go to games library right click on Arma OA.
• Go to properties
• Local files
• Verify gamecache

Afterwards you will go into commander and update your beta patch, it should not give you further issues just a fresh DL.

potato Nothing is found in the registry under local Machine. Im pretty sure you meant Local User as that is where I see the BI folder. I will post back to let ya know if potato's post works.

UPDATE: If you're like me and nothing came up when you searched it; it was a stupid mistake, just go into file explorer and search the two folders, then delete what he says to delete and there ya go

The full accurate fix is this (im new to this game too!!)

 

1. Go to reg edit and navigate to "local user" / Software / Bohemia Interactive

 

2. Delete the entire Arma AO folder and close reg edit.

 

4. Open steam as admin and browse library and right click on Arma 2 OA and select properties / Local files and click Verify Integrity of game cache.

 

3. Launch both Arma 2 and Arma 2 AO up to the main menu and close (as Dayz commander does not see Arma AO installation until after you run first)

 

4. Run Dayzcommander and click install / updates and click to install the latest version of Arma 2 at the top of the page.

 

The game will then update to 1.62 and will be playable.

Hello, i just bought Arma II and decided to get The Arma II: DayZ Mod on Steam once i downloaded it i tried to open the dayZ mod it then says Addon 'DayZ_anim' requires addon 'CA_dubbing_Counterattack' i press ok and it continues anyway. it then pops up and says 'Bad Serial Number In Setup' PLEASE HELP

The only known fix I know for the Bad Serial Setup is deleting everything in your Steam folder. But that should be a last resort, it's what my friend had to do and what Bohemia told him to do.

1. Go to .\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\
2. Copy the content of the 'addons' folder.
3. Go to .\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Common\
4. Paste and replace/merge the files.
(5. Additionally, copy the entire Addons folder into A2OA's main folder.)

i decided to start it after i did the first part of the addon stuff and it now says addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E' will that go away once i do the serial number thing?

Those are the exact pathways for each so go to your computer on the desktop double click.  Follow the first pathway to beta expansions and copy everything within the folder, then back out follow the second pathway to OA expansion add ons and paste all the files from the beta folder.  We will see how the fixes work before we go for serial unless you made it that far and it is your only error message.
