Quick thought - adding wind to reduce accuracy

Recommended Posts

I'm sure it's a topic tossed around by the devs, likely a code/performance issue I'd guess, but it would be awesome to have wind. Sniping is far too easy. Would you vote yes or no for wind..

I prefer wind not because it makes sniping harder but because it is more realistic. As long as it is done in a manner that does not cause latency and is not inconsistent (player A and player B at the same position receiving different wind speeds or direction).

Perhaps it may be possible to borrow the feature from ACE but we'll see what the devs decided with regards to this.

I knew all those beans would cause issues.

(Shooting mechanics are more Arma-II territory so probably out of scope for Day-Z).

Well as stated : Shooting mechanics are more of Arma-II engine thing, and would probably be tricky to change in DayZ ,only option I can see is changing it in a beta-patch, but that would piss off the Arma-II community like hell I'd bet :P

But yeah would be a nice addition, Arma 2 has quite good ballisitics already but wind would add some more fun :)
