Best sniping sports Dayz SA? Most populated town?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Since I've only played about 120 hrs of Dayz Standalone and I don't consider myself a veteran, I would like to ask you about the best sniping spots in Dayz Standalone, and the most action-packed town in this game :D.

Since I loved snipers, and sniping from Cs 1.6 times until now, and i got myself packed again with a mosin and a long-range scope, after dying multiple times with the sniper due to the lack of positioning, I came to you for advices :D.

I am not a Dayz mod player, I got the mod after buying SA and I simply couldn't get used to it, so I came back to Standalone. I currently have 2 more friends, and we are playing together. Since I am the only one that enjoys sniping, I need to do my job right in order to protect my friends. I know about the famous Elektro sniper hill, but since the spawns changed, and Elektro or Cherno aren't the biggest action-packed cities anymore, I would like to ask for sniping positions in Berezino. Since everyone spawns now on the East coast, and the NW airfield became Balota v2, everyone seems to be around Berezino.

Since this is my first forum post, I would like to describe myself, and speak in the name of the entire (small) pack.

I was the most friendly player there was in the first 12 hours of gameplay. Since I am a lucky bastard i always spawned in Balota and headed to the tents and onto the airfield to get "geared". However, i got shot every time. As soon as i saw someone, i headed to him and trying to make a friend, butmostly I got shot as soon as he saw me, so I quit that habbit.

In 220 hrs of gameplay, my attitude changed. I am not a bandit, I don't KOS unless I am forced to. I don't like going in big cities, and airfields. That's why I prefer staying on a hill, with my gun, and watch my friends while they are  looting the city.

I am following the [s.T.A.L.K.E.R] code when I am playing ( I don't have a link, sorry). If you know it, then you know what decisions I do  and what kind of player I am.

But enough of me. Best sniping spots in Berezino? The most action-packed town/airfield?

                                                                                                                                                  [K-PAX]Quicky

Let ol' Guppy give you some snipin' advice.

1. Try and find an area with shrubbery to conceal you, a rock to cover you, and a clear line of fire.

2. NEVER wear the mountain pack.

3. NEVER use the bayonet.

4. Only fire 2-3 shots in one spot, and then move to a new one slowly.

5. Learn the bullet drops and travel time of your weapon- it's all about knowing your gun.

Hope this helped :D

NEAF is probably the new most action packed airfield after this spawn change, and there is a small hill with a row of trees that is sort of a good spot for sniping to the west of it, and to the north-east of it there is a large hill with a big overview of the whole airfield but it is farther and it takes more skill to land a shot from there.

Berezino doesn't seem to have a very good place to look over it, the hills north of it are too short to see most of it and the hospital is probably your best bet.

:/ calling what is in dayz sniping is kinda funny.

Nothing about "sniping" in stand alone requires skill or talent.

I really can't wait for proper wind, and real elevation adjustments to be added.

It's a very hard to answer this question i am afraid. The main reason being that the best sniper spots are the ones you have found and that only you know about, telling others will ruin that spot eventually but there are a few really good ones that are quite obvious.

In the centre of Berezhino there is a huge chimney with two levels, this is by far the most superior sniping spot in berezhino, The main issue with it is that you can be easily killed unless you have a presence on the ground to protect you and for you to guide to any contacts. Also in berezhino at the back of the apartment blocks there is a huge hill which will give you a good view over the entire city but is quite well known. The cranes can be good sometimes but most people will pass you by. So many places it is not even worth listing, personally i would go on a low pop server and find some spots for yourself then join your friends.

Depends what you're into. Sniping high pop cities have quick gratifications but usually doesn't end well if you stick around very long. I prefer areas that are a little more out of the way and cozy. There are a few towns inland that are great for sniping, but as someone else said you should go on a low pop server and look for yourself.

If you really want action, stay on the move inside the cities. I'd think sniping  from a building's second story would be much better. Though you wouldn't be able to go prone, you'd be much closer and actually be *in* the action.

There tends to be a lot of people in the costal towns near Berezino.  Roadrats travel up and down the road on their away to the cities and like picking off unsuspecting travelers.

Personally I stick to bushes and keyhole shots. You shoot threw a loop hole. It's really the only sure fire way to not be spotted.

Thank me later.....

The best spot is the least obvious
