Please add a confirmation to respawn or a timer

I was just playing a game and went to change the mouse sensitivity in options, and misclicked and hit respawn and subsequently died and lost the gear I had just spent 2 hours collecting.

I am requesting either a timer (countdown from 5 or 10 until it confirms) or add a confirmation button to respawn "Are you sure you want to respawn? You will lose your progress" or something along those lines.
