missing corrupted files? should I reinstall?

so i've been playing dayz for about a week and I was really having troube finding weapons. more specificly, pistols, and guns. a message pops up on my screen a few times that says binweaponconfig (or something idk) I find hachets just fine and I did find a winchester once in the 20 or so respawns. but the message raises a question. "Is this just the nature of the game or am I missing a file? I use six updater so could someone tell me how to delete everything dayz related and start fresh?
