Are these items/abilities working in game yet?

1 - Head torches and pistol lights?  I would love to play on a hardcore server and use a head mounted or pistol mounted light at night!  Are either of these functional?  If so, please detail how to use these cause I can't figure out how to use either.

 

2 - Pistols seem to now be shooting only 1 shot at a time and then I have to manually reload.  Saw this with magnum and another one.  Had plenty of ammo but, do I have to manually load after each show now?

 

3 - Private servers.  Any news anywhere on when these will be in?  Tired of server hoppers and want to be part of a relatively steady group of players and community as in the mod.

 

4 - I had a guy come up to me the other day and he said "Thomas, I will kill you thomas."  How did he know my character name when they aren't displayed over our heads and I cannot ever see anyone elses?  Was he an admin or something?

 

5 - What scope is the "longest in the game combo?" as far as visible zoom?  Mosin and pu scope?  Mosin and long range?

 

6 - Charcoal tablets and purification tablets etc to clean water.  Do you guys actually use purification?  You can find wells and water/soda all over to hydrate...isn't purification tablets etc a bit unnecessary with all the work involved?

1- These work but there is no night time.

 

2- The magnum will load 6 fine from a pile of ammo, all of the others require magazines or you can only chamber a single round.

 

3- Not until Beta I imagine.

 

4- A hacker or the only other person on the server if you were playing low pop.

 

5- Mosin/Bipod/Compensator/LRS

 

6- Cholera isn't implemented so purification does nothing, soon you will be able to catch cholera from drinking straight from ponds/wells/unpurified water. Pretty sure charcoal tablets are for if you eat rotten fruit.

1. They work but only at night and if they are in good enough nick.

2. Semi auto pistols are only 1 round at a time unless you have mags. Revolver is just "Load ammo" and you should just load 6 (f you have the rounds)

3. Nope.

4. Could have tried to handcuff/force feed you because it shows names.

5. PU has no where near the magnification it has in real life. The LRS is the highest zoom scope in the game and only goes on the Mosin at the moment.

6. Charcoal is for sickness. Purification tabs don't work yet, or we have no use for them as water doesn't have diseases.

Ok,lets start with it from number 1..

You need to add battery's to make them turn on,the pistol torch you need to find the right pistol for it..

2 You need to find a magazine to make it load the full amount what you have done is chamber only 1 round..there are clips for the pistols as well..

3no private hives yet just wait it will come.

4Did you speak to him or type to him?

5the longest is a mosin with a long range scope 800mtrs

6I think its for patches down the line some where every thing in DayZ has a use..

1.) Flashlights need a battery attached to them, drag and drop the battery. If it's the headtorch I don't think you can be wearing it, and the pistol attachment must be detatched.

 

2.)No, you just need to find a mag or a speedloader(Magnum)

 

3.) I haven't read anything yet, but you can have a server with a password

 

4.)Either he was an admin(not sure about their abilities) or he knew everyone on the server, or he just guessed.

 

5.) Long range goes up to 800m, while the PU only goes to 300m

 

6.) Charcoal is used if you eat rotten food, and purification is not needed. As of now.
