Does respawning leave a corpse?

On my second life, and finally, I find a weapon (hatchet). I find some food and drink to boot. I'm all ready to get the hell out of Elektro when I open a door while prone and it breaks my leg

I spent twenty minutes crawling some place safely out of town

If I hit the respawn button, does my old body leave a corpse so I can go get my things? Or do I have to actually be killed (i.e. I have to go find some zombies to kill me)

Just a matter of convenience, really. I'm still new enough where I don't know the map or building layouts well, and I was also already down to around 4000 blood and don't have any friends that play to transfuse me.

It basically came down to the fact that I'm super cautious (been playing around 7 or 8 hours of this game so far, I'm only on my third life (after the respawn) with 0 kills/0murders and after all that sneaking around and time invested, this was the first time I'd gotten enough to get started (weapon+supplies).

Took me that many hours to gather the things, about 20 minutes to run back to the corpse.

Best thing is dont get to attached to your gear, because you will die. I see you point about (20 minutes to run back to the corpse) as long as those 7 or 8 hours before hand you picked up abit of experience... Best of luck.

Why dont you try and make it to a hospital....?? Its all part of the mod.

I'm assuming hospitals are the buildings with a glass front with the med sign on them that you cant actually enter? Thats all I have been able to find and only once did I find a blood pack. I've been specifically spending time/lifes running through major cities looking for morphine so I know where to find it and in about 15hrs I have not found a single one. I refuse to look at a map other than the one you can find but it would be nice to know im looking in the right spots just having crappy luck.

Yes, thats a hospital. You can break the glass in the front with a firearm or by throwing a whiskey bottle at it (However, I tried this last night in Cherno and the glass would not break...hit it with my hatchet, threw the bottle at it, and shot it....nothing)

Anyways, you can also climb to the roof (at least at the hospital in Cherno) and find what you need....look for cardboard boxes or loot piles.

I learned things, surely.

However, I'll be honest, I've learned more in the hour since I've had the hatchet than I did in all the hours before that. Being able to defend yourself makes exploration so much easier.

I really think people should start with a crowbar.

Morphine spawns also at M.A.S.H tents at Balota-airstrip/Stary sobor/Deerstands/castles.
