Just downloaded commander and the DayZ mod and DayZ Epoch.

From here I have no idea what I'm doing........heh

 

Can someone post me a link to a guide or some tips?

You will want to find a server so open up the browser in dayz commander and filter for Epoch servers.  You will notice a drop down on the left which allows you to select mod specific, after choosing it refresh and pick a server.  Any other questions I would be happy to answer or if you want me to show you the ropes send me a PM.

Its quite easy to navigate once you get used to it as it is user friendly.  It sounds like you already downloaded Epoch so you found the install/update section.
