Time acceleration- how does it work, server side?

So I see that gameservers has finally added the feature, but I am not exactly sure what the math involved is.

 

Default setting is 1- I read that as though for every minute of real time that passes, 1 minute of game time passes. Hence, with a setting of 2, every 1 minute of real time would equate to two minutes of game time. Thus, with a 4-hour reset cycle on gameservers, with the setting at 2 and the server restart time set to 0900, at the end of the four hour cycle the time on the server would be 1700.

 

This, however, does not appear to be the case. I played for around 2 hours after changing the setting to 2, and it appeared that only around 2 hours had passed in game. So either the setting isn't working as intended in the control panel/config, or I have my interpretation of the mechanics way off base.

 

Anyone have a clue?

I need to find out the article where it explains it but I'm busy, anyways I think the way it works is lets say you want it to be 5-6 ahead then put the accelerator at 5-6. It adds that many hours to the time, although I do not trust myself with that answer. I will look for the correct article for you.

Yeah, google-fu is failing on finding reference material besides announcements that its actually there to use. Would much appreciate it if you are able to dig it up.

I just got a reply on this, was really excited but unfortunately... Doesn't work yet.

Does the time multiplier currently work for the DayZ server, or is it a work in progress?
Also, what's the max value that can be set for this?

What the fuck...why would they even have the setting in there?

 

Thanks though, tired of losing players due to restarting for config changes.

It's not working cuz this feature isn't in stable yet, wait for the next stable patch.

OK, bumping this back because this feature is most definitely functional on stable as of the .44 update.

 

So who can offer some insight into exactly how the multiplier works?

So now its july. I can set the Time Multiplier but i have no information about that feature. Anyone with new informations?

I have definetly played on servers that had it on, one of them im pretty sure had it at max levels, it would go through a full cycle in about 90minutes, or an hour plus a half...it is on my favourites list, a french stable one, but some definetly have it working. Edit- i saw you say its been disabled in .45 . I must have played this some weeks ago before the problems were realised. Hope to play again soon on speeded up time

UP ! Where is this option ?

 

Time multiplier is not allowed say Fragnet ...  And yes we are in july and on 0.47 ... Suppressor = dosnt work, cutter = useless, Tape = Useless, Bipod = Useless, key to dial = useless, ballistic helmet + gas mask and other dosnt work, Walkie Talkie = No immersive sound, Binocular= Wait for unbug... how long ? and the rest....

 

But guns to kill and play call of duty that work  O.o    ALOOOO ...   WTF ?

 

 

I dont know wat its gone with the devs and i hope its gone beter in the following weeks. (Alpha cant stay a Excuse after so long time)
