cuddly_rabbit 102 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) I have 2 suggestions that I would like to make. 1. Wardrobe: Underlying thoughts: > a new spawn becomes "more than just the useless thing" by making it look "different". At least for me. If I look like a "survivor", I also start feeling like one. White shirt and jeans, 2 rags... that does feel like "new worthless spawn" and kills immersion.> realistically, it should not be hard to find something to dress yourself in. If someone ransacked my appartment, I bet 20 people could get dressed. Suggestion: The Wardrobe It's a model of a wardrobe, located in many/most houses. It does not need clothing models (that take performance, need spawning, etc)When opened, it offers a list of clothes, like* jeans (black damaged)* jeans (blue damaged)* shirt (red worn)*... Of course no green, no camo, 1st tier items, nothing that gives you an advantage. Those should be searched for, ofc!Looking through a few houses, you should be able to look different, unique, and start identifying yourself with your figure much better than spending 20 mins in white+blue, yelling "I am a NEEEEWBIE!!! Treat me like one!!!" by looks only. 2. Allow more than one character: DayZ is a game that is most fun when you play it as a team. Solo is not that much fun (my subjective view).DayZ is unforgiving, you die fast without much chance to avoid it sometimes. (no criticism, just fact)Player death rips groups apart because of the huge distances. An example:At the moment, I am the only survivor of a group of 3 near a military base.I would love to join the other guys looting beginner stuff at the ocean, gearing up again. But if I do that, I have to run for 30 minutes, alone.Underlying thought: Wouldn't it be nice if you could just log off your surviving char that is e.g. in Cherno and restart together with the killed guys, keep them company, and gear up together? Suggestion: Allow for a limited number of characters to allow players to cooperate more easily. 3 well placed characters could cover most of the playing field, and would also help in "overcoming" the pain of char loss, if you can e.g. log into char 2, that is nearer to your mates, half-equipped instead of being 20 km away as a new spawn. These are the thoughts of a very new player, though.I'll just see what your thoughts are.Constructive feedback is very welcome. ;) Andy Edited April 7, 2014 by cuddly_rabbit
applejaxc 2500 Posted April 7, 2014 No and no. #1 makes the game too easy#2 is too useful for cheating
chakijz 174 Posted April 7, 2014 The second idea goes against DayZ's nature.
doublebrain 255 Posted April 7, 2014 Yea I would say both a No. First, there should be nothing in DayZ you can find realy easy. Not even clothings. And the second one, well its been discussed a 100 times in the forums so there should be plenty of answers why its a No.
irishroy 1347 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) yes, the 2nd it too exploitable. However, I DO think we should start with more than just tshirt, jeans and flashlight.Randomly chosen items would be good, like apple, soda-can (smth. to eat) and maybe already 2 rags (So items, which are useful, but fully new re-spawning isn't worth for.Because if you would start with maybe morphine, rice or epi-pen, this would encourage suiciding, which is bad) Edited April 7, 2014 by irishroy
DayZ_Friendly 145 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) #1 - I don't understand how this is different from finding clothes already being spawned. BTW, I think they are working on "container" like wardrobes and such in future releases. But stuff will spawn in there instead of on the ground. #2 - No one is keeping you from having multiple steam accounts to have multiple characters. Just sayin'.
