Roalith 0 Posted June 25, 2012 What exactly do you look for in the server script log? We are a newly opened server and I would like to investigate some cheat reports. What do I use the find feature to scan for in the logs?Thank you!
fenrix 9 Posted June 26, 2012 you won't find anything :)well. if you see CLEANING UP CHEATER VEHICLE or something similar you know cheaters are attempting to spawn vehicles/use them ect. but chances are you won't see thier names anywhere.this game is pretty crap in terms of administration/cheat logging or any of the modern conveniences of most servers with detailed verbose logs.(not just talking about dayz here. arma is just not admin friendly as it is built as a SIM not an arcade/fps)someone needs to come up with a logging option so the server logs things better :< and stuff to allow admins in the lobby to go deal with a cheater if someone witnesses something, rather than attempting to travel across the 255x255km map on foot. Roalith 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Ah, I thought there was specific text that I could use the FIND feature on a text editor to search for in the logs. Like a specific script name or command name that only cheaters use. I've been told that by several different people but don't actually know what to search for! vlees 0 Posted June 26, 2012 rather than attempting to travel across the 255x255km map on foot. The land is only about 12x12 km. Then there's a lot of water resulting in 15x15 km of map.
NigeyS 16 Posted June 26, 2012 Check the log files for SQF entries, but be warned they can be huge, over 200MB per day.
Roalith 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Check the log files for SQF entries' date=' but be warned they can be huge, over 200MB per day.[/quote']I did scan for *.sqf and *.sqs but I couldn't tell which were cheating. I thought addWeapon.sqf was but there were like thousands of entries for it and it was attached to pretty much every player that had played since the 20th when I opened my server. Ones I have seen in the log (names might not be exact) addWeapon, addWeaponCrate, addWaypoint, addwaypointpos, stuff like that. What are the ones that are 100% for sure cheating? I currently have a log about 850MB to sort though :)
CommanderKeen 0 Posted June 26, 2012 we had a bunch of teleporters yesterday that were killing people all over the place. I couldn't for the life of me find ANY info on them not even names. so I couln't kick or ban them. Somehting needs to give here. If there is no repercussions for these undetectable hacks the this game will quickly be overrun by them... which is already starting to happen. can we get some log parser to help aid in tracking down the culprits?
