character differences crashing game

today when I was playing dayz, I had recently died and I had spawned in chernogorsk I'm assuming. now, my character was black and I'm okay with that but, I wanted to try and respawn closer to someone with a different character. different look and stuff basically. I logged out of the server and changed my characters look and set it as default, but my main menu appearance changed to a former spawn I had. default clothing and a garden hoe in hand that I picked up nearby the place it had spawned me. I didn't think nothing of this till what happens next! every time I try to get into a server and play, my character is what I started with ingame on this respawn: black, default clothing, but all I'm carrying before the issue is autumn camo pants, a water bottle, flash light, and battery. now I am unable to play because I can't respawn to see if that will fix it because the game won't let me, and i continuously crash. the only thing i can think of to do is bear with the crashing, get to the nearest building roof, and jump off so i respawn...any idea how to fix this?
