Just invited a few friends to come play with me the last few days.

Recommended Posts

We all had a blast! scavenging, meeting some other players was intense we got by luckily. Had one friend die from rotten fruit lol... after a day they got the hang of the game while no lifing it over last weekend. Then they get KoS'd.... which was fine and i told them it happens time to time.... another day scavenging goes by. Go to help a guy with a broken leg...and a guy comes around the korner and shoots all of us without saying anything. Another day goes by..... we all get fed and watered ad find a some descent survival gear, a pistol a shotgun a pitchfork.... We meet two guys in full Server Hop attire. They kill all of us for no apparent reason.

My friends quit and made fun of how the game was a huge waste of time.

I am still playing, I love the game it is a lot of fun. But the community seems to be shit. I am still fairly new myself but damn... really if its going to turn away gamers like that who do pretty much nothing but game on their spare time there has to be some kind of incentive to not KoS people.

I understand it.

I feel it is a valuable part of the game.

But 9/10 encounters you get KoS? That's a bit rough and stupid tbh. What a huge waste of time for any legit player who isnt server hopping to die every time he meets another person. It sucks, because I really wanted my friends to play with. But they said "never again"

Is there any plans in putting some sort of incentive in the game that would deter people from shooting every person they see for no reason?

Ah well, I roam alone again.

It really probably wouldnt be so bad if you didnt have to spend 1-2 hrs finding each other on respawn.

The game just isn't for some people.  The first few players I encountered in DayZ I wound up becoming good friends with, and we game on something almost every night.  We've run into plenty of friendly players, and other players who were just looking for trouble.  We systematically took out some sniper bandits in Cherno who were trying to keep the city locked down.  Other times we've run into new spawns who were in need, we helped out, and they went on their way.

Just gotta risk it and find those who like finding loot over and over again.

If you're getting killed 9 times out of 10, you'd imagine you'd learn to shoot first.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  If you're not killing on sight, you're just collecting gear for the guy who will.  PVP is the only actual excitement in the game right now.  If nobody ever shot at me, I would have got bored of the game after 2hrs.

Not all people who try to KoS succeed lol. Idk why you and some other people act like it's impossible to survive an encounter without killing the other guy immediately.

I do agree on the fact that PvP is one of the most exciting things right now. Probably the most exciting thing for me. I mainly look for PvP at airfields to raise my skill level.

I don't KOS.  Half the time I'm sort of stalking someone, some noobs will sneak up behind me and catch me off guard.  I'm terrible at spotting people, and even worse at situational awareness.  I would love to KOS, but I'm mostly getting KOSed.

I'd love to actually shoot someone for once.  I never shoot at new spawns, and each time I run into someone I end up being friendly because I'm Canadian and it's in my stupid DNA.  Last time I ran into a group of fresh spawns, I gave them most of my food and drinks, not even 1 minute later while I was topping myself off at a well I got shot by someone peeking around corner.

I get why people KOS, that's all.  Can't blame them at all.

Assume that anyone WILL kill you, & tackle the situation accordingly.

-Travel in groups (there's power in numbers)

-Stay off the main roads

-Communicate

-Be patient, know your surroundings before proceeding

-Treat every encounter with caution

-Keep your head on a swivel & don't turn your back to anyone

If you're the friendly & moral type, simply disarm other players when you come across them. Let them live & carry on.

Here's what you do about kos:

First off, make sure your mother (father, sibling, girlfriend, boyfriend, spouse, etc...) is not working when you are playing and that she is in the same location (home, apt, etc...) as you are.

Second, play some Dayz.

Third, each time you get into a kos fight and lose because you were out gunned, get up and have whoever you chose to be around you slap you in the face one time. Be sure to remind them that it's to be a hard slap and include: redness, swelling, and a clear, visible indication that all five (maybe less depending on the persons history) fingers were present.

Fourth, each time you get kos'd due to not moving tactically, not being aware of your surroundings, and/or being THAT GUY who runs up to random people who are wearing gasmasks while shouting, "Don't shoot I'm friendly," ask for TWO slaps rather than one.

Fifth, rinse and repeat.

Using this method of reinforcing your poor judgments ingame with real bouts of physical pain will quickly help break the pattern of bad decisions you make and, in turn, prolong your characters lifecycle indefinately...

It's all good though, just changed up my playstyle a bit. Now rather than try to co-op and find someone to play with I have killed about 40 people from 500m away with my mosin outside NW air base. I guess this is "PVP" Lol No point in playing friendly. If you cant join em, kill em.

This is what they want right?

To be honest, I'm still getting slapped in the face...

Morals are a bitch!
