question will infinite ammo get u banned? READ ON

okay so today i was playing dayz sa and i killed this guy right.. in his bookbag he had m4 ammo and it was like glitches out saying +794261154 over 90 and things like if if was in a fraction... i was ganna take it but my friend said dont take it cause if battleeye catches it in ur inventory it will banned u from any game that the ppl who made dayz ?? forgot the companys name and is this true i just wanted to ask... i was ganna take it but i didnt since he told me not to take it cause of ban

Edit: I still wouldn't take it. Just ignore it and move on. I think my favorite part of DayZ SA so far is that hackers die if you shoot them.

Hmm, does the stack become infinite because a bit gets shifted the wrong way? It's either that or they're not validating the ammo count when it's set or initialized.

I wouldn't risk carrying it on you, it's entirely within the realm of possibility they'll have battle-eye if not the game itself initialize a check on ammo in the future and anything above a normally obtainable amount might get you a global perm-ban. But that's just forward thinking, better safe than sorry. It's not banning for it yet, but BE bans in waves, not all at once. So hacker's won't even know they've been caught until the wave hits and all of them are kicked to the curb.

There's no way to get banned for having infinite ammo, that's why so many people do it. Nevertheless I'd just bury the body and pretend the game doesn't have any exploits.

You will not get banned BUT if the Devs check the ammo/magazine IDs amount for any unusual number then they can ban you. BUT that is so unlikely that you have more luck winning a $500 scratch off. xD

That would be unlikely as I am sure battle eye only looks for third party programs or modifications to the game files on your client.

 

HOWEVER it is always better to be safe than sorry, and these kinds of bugs can cause performance issues. For example backpacks, in backpacks, in backpacks ect.... caused massive lag issues for everyone including those AROUND the player.

Okay, so last night we were getting into firefights. Towards the end of the night, 2 more players were infiltrating with m4's and I and another took them out. I look in their ammo box and low and behold- these two have 1.2 million rounds for m4 in only 2 stacks...I'm not exaggerating. So we split them up between us, albeit somewhat reluctantly. I was worried of course and I find this morning that my character has been reset, which is completely fine with me. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I won't do it again and shouldn't have done it then/ we didn't make them/ and warn you all to just
