A great thing to do is to check a few dayz videos out...look at where people go, read through the forum and see the best places to go. If your new thats great..you have a massive world to explore...good look out there kiddo, if i ever see you i will chuck you a wave

Hey Toxic. I am on the US West Coast, and if you play on servers in that ping range you can PM me your steam name and I can run you through the basics. Honestly though, the game is more fun to learn by exploration. "Hardcore" servers are first person only, "Normal" servers are first or third. Both have benefits and downsides, but your character will not hop from hardcore to normal so pick one with your play

style in mind.
