Dislocating shoulders as an alternative to broken legs

Recommended Posts

Rocket is reducing the probability of breaking legs. Why not include the possibility of dislocating shoulders that would force your character to use only his sidearm until the shoulder is put back in place? Once the shoulder is popped back in, your survivor would shake until painkillers are taken. You could even include the possibility of the hit forcing your character to drop his primary weapon.

To put it back in place, you could require the player to stand near a tree in similar fashion to cutting wood. There would be a context option to put the shoulder back in place. Doing so would have a randomly generated chance of knocking your character out for 10 seconds or so. This would force you to "fight through the pain" until it is safe to bang it back in place.

Like many others, I have been driven crazy by brittle leg bone syndrome and am glad it is being nerfed. However, I think that adding a debilitating injury that is fairly easily curable and that doesnt slow movement speed would be very interesting.

That sounds crazy, in a good way of course. I'd rather it be more likely to just be forced to use secondary for a while instead of having a broken leg and crawling around like an asshat for 20 minutes trying to get morphine.
