Server restarts: Awkward log outs/ spawn locations?

Recommended Posts

I'm in a bit of a pickle on my HC character as I had a server restart as I was getting a drink in Electro at the well. Had to run to dinner anyway and was about to make my way out of town for a more proper sign out - so not sure what the future will hold for me when I log back in later today. What are your most awkward login positions and how do you handle them? I'm debating a low pop server login and move - but not a server hopper and feel like that might be crossing 'my line'. Thoughts?

it depends on who realistic you play...i myself have never logged out in adodgy area but i ever did i would just roll with it and stick with the same server....if i were to be shot it would be my problem to deal with. Plus you would leran not to do it again

Had a server drop me in the middle of the runway at north west. Little bit of poo came out when I logged in because I had been outside the wall but it had reverted me to the runway.

Trust me - not where I'd choose to logout. Key point is it was due to a server restart. I know better than to logout at a well ! :)

Ouch, that's a bad place for that to happen.  I've had it happen in a jail building and a fire station, but you've got me beat with the well in Electro!  What I've done when it happens is to move out of the area as fast and as safely as possible when I log back in.  You have no idea who's there and what's going on.  Once you've had a chance to assess the situation, you can go back in if you want.  Or you could run into the nearest building and hole up there for a few minutes while you scope things out.  One thing is for sure, it's going to be a fun first few minutes back on the server!  Good luck and let us know how it goes.

We had just got through a firefight with two others and was bandaging and drinking before I got out of Dodge (Elektro). I'll let you know how it goes as I expect I likely will be sniper bait for a bit...

Ouch! That's a bad one too! Had something similar in Balota many hours ago but escaped unscathed miraculously. I did log right back on after reset though, so that at least allowed me a better shot. This one at the well will be an unknown situation.

The trees are my best friends to log out. Those unforseen server restarts can suck though. A little message would help a lot. E.g 1 minute till server restart.

cherno, back when it was high pop area, cleared out the firestation and see 2 guys hanging around outside, get the drop on them, open fire with my magnum, get off 3 shots and server resets. They now know i am there and we all log back into the same server and I'm the lucky son of a bitch that gets to spawn on top of the firestation tower. no way down without exposing myself. shots start hitting all around me while i lie prone. they finally killed me about 10 minutes later..

Personally, I'd say that you should do what you want. The only thing a server hop would avoid (assuming you don't loot it up in the process) is someone shooting you while you are spawning in, which is, quite simply, a douche move. The worst your action would do is deprive someone of, what I would consider, an illegitimate kill. There's no realism to it.

Not to mention, based on the developer road map, I would guess that the future holds "no spawn" zones that will kick you to the outskirts coming in the future. So you'll just be temporarily travelling to the future.

Well while I was on vacation, apparently the person watching the house decided to play some dayz...

I log back on in a full server expecting me to still be in the woods...

Middle of the road in Cherno,

fluorescent purple backpack, no pants, empty sks, half an inventory full of payday masks, including one on my face...

It literally took 8 seconds to get shot.
