Recognizing your friends

People look different. We are all different heights, weights, and shapes. No two faces are the same, and we all move differently and have different civilian clothing. Because no game engine can properly model how easy it is to recognize an individual by their physical characteristics, other measures are needed.

I would propose the ability to mark other players with colors (eg. red, green, blue), which would result in client-side color-tinting of their player model when they are within a close range, eg. just barely noticeable at about 30 meters and growing more distinct at closer distances.
