Trollbies gone wild

THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR ENTERTAINMENT!

This is just me showing how broken the zombie detection radius and spawns are.

Aside from the no clipping and such, I know they are being worked on but, I had nothing better to do.

Oh yeah, I'm not raging, just frustrated with constant zombies running at me from across the town/field

Yes, it's clear to DayZ players, but not all may realize that zombies come from 500m away for some may have low graphics. I also couldn't find any video on a related matter. The Dev team may or may not know how severe the problem is, so this video can shed some light on that.

Honestly more concerned with the people hiding INSIDE walls, my occasionally accidentally falling through said walls, major de-sync issues......

Shall I continue?

Anyways, just an Alpha - but still... ;-)

I dont see the problem, stick and move is how you cope these days. I didnt see many zombies ( not as many as there should be) and the ones that came from far away aggroed because you crossed there LOS in an open field. whats wrong with that? I could see a player that far away in a field, why cant zombies? I think if a player can see you then a zombie should too.

Other than the wall clipping, i dont have a huge gripe with the zombies and actually find it a vast improvement from when zombie were an endangered species .

My advice is to nut up and adapt.

Rocket or Dean Hall, not sure which one said zombies have horrible eye sight but good hearing. I'm sure an undead creature that is said to have bad eyesight can't see that far. If that is bad eyesight, I would hate to see what good is.

That quote is ancient and doesnt even hold true anymore. If anything its obviously the opposite, you can walk right up behind one and have a wicked dance party if you want.

Also it has been stated from the devs that the "zombies" are in fact infected humans not undead creatures.

FYI rocket and dean hall are one in the same bud

dont get me wrong here bud. Im not saying the zombies dont need work, but until they get the full attention they need and some stuff gets finished, this is what we get and its not bad. I like the zombies to be the primary threat and these new zombies go a long way in doing that.

As things come together we will see them tone back the vision range and tone up the sound and with the anamations and (fingers crossed) the running through walls gets fixed, we will be left with some pretty good zombies.

I will say this, if you only played SA and went from the old zombies to the new zombies then i can understand the initial shock you are getting. A lot of us played the MOD and have been used to the more aggressive zombies. They are going to be tough and you will have to account for them when its all said and done.

I did play the mod a long time ago, and I'm just used to sneaking around zombies I guess, anyways thanks for the great answer
