Spawning System

I did a quick search of "Spawn location" and did not see any similar results, so on to the topic.

 

I think that the entire spawning system should be re-worked. Instead of starting off on the coasts, you should just wake up from being unconscious at any point on the map. Dead center, east coast, North hill, in a forest, anywhere

  • Adds to immersion - You wake up, you loot supplies, you're immersed. You aren't appearing somewhere you've been countless times.
  • Changes "KoS" play style - Face it, it's no fun when a group of people hang around the coast killing fresh spawns because they can.
  • Forces map exploration - Self explanatory.
  • For the "RPers", there's some mystery - "What was I doing up on this hill, and how did I get hurt?"
  • (add more?)

Maybe there could even be randomized statuses, not always just hungry. Maybe on one spawn you could be in a camping tent (when added) completely healthy, just taking a nap in the forest. For another, you could be a bit low on blood and thirsty on the side of a road. Make it so that you have just taken control of a person who has been surviving on their own. On that note, however, I'd never like to see spawns with equipment (besides basics - flashlight, maybe some rags).

 

It may not be perfect, maybe you guys and gals will not like this, but it is quite repetitive spawning in the exact same spots all the time, only to run in to people who camp the hillside killing or 'playing with' fresh spawns.

Part of me likes this idea and part of me hates it. I get tired of the same old spawns too, but I also really like the excitement of the initial start in the chaos of the coast. I feel like if you spawn in the north, you're at such an advantage that it takes away from the initial thrill and recklessness of a fresh spawn. Would be a neat option for private servers, but I'd be against this being added to the overall game.

I agree that the current spawns suck. I know that the devs are having some hard times changing the map around but it would be so much better if the spawns were as far as possible from the high loot areas. Having fresh spawns constantly running through the most competitive areas like cherno and electro makes reaching those places less consequential. The coast is good so that new spawns have a sense of navigation but something that I love about dayz is that when you die you lose everything. You should need to spend a long time traveling and finding new gear to finally reach the mose intense zones on the map. Spawning and running for 15 minutes to get to elektro isn't very fun, but spawning and living a full life traveling across the whole map so that when you've gotten there death means something would be awesome.

People would just respawn till they get a favourable location...
