So many damn veteran servers!?!?

Recommended Posts

I can't stand the excuses for 3rd Person and crosshairs, learn some skills, they are essentially cheats.

Learn how to play properly.

I really don't give fuck about the whole debate of Veteran+ being skills while Regular- being carebear noobs. I do not enjoy this game in first person. Plain and simple. There should be no attempt to distinguish the settings by skill. It is pure preference. I believe CH should not be argued at all since you could simply place a piece of tape on your monitor to give you a CH. Also I think the nametags are just broken. I'd like to be able to tell the name of who I'm looking at, but it shouldn't be showing me players who aren't even in my sight.

Like I said. If nametags could be visible to your clan/group or members you joined x server to play with. Those tags should be visible, nothing wrong with that imo

I usually play on regular servers' date=' and often play in 3rd person.

BUT... I can live without 3rd person, and I don't like nametags.... what I HATE is playing without cross hairs. Reason I hate it is, if I get aggro'd by a zed, and they are right in my face, having to use iron-sights is extremely aggravating... the target is so close, and jumping/sliding all over the place, then add in the zoom associated with iron-sights, and it's like sitting 5 feet from a TV looking through binoculars trying to make heads or tails of what your seeing.

You don't HAVE to use iron sights. You just have to know where the bullet comes out of the muzzle when you shoot from the hip.

I would expect cross-hairs to be removed at the very least. You should probably learn where the center of your screen is.

I play on hardcore servers as my clan one is hc, as was our old home.

I have no real preference, I tell you it certainly does get mesy when we are doing ops with like 10 people and going 'WHOS THAT IN THE X WITH THE Y' every 2 seconds. we have had many friendly fire incidents.

but. the risk of that is often outweighed by the gameplay afforded by the other. 3rd person Is great. but often gives advantages to the target rather then the shooter.

for eg.

shooter fires.. hits but no kill. target darts behind a building. he can now use 3rd person to spot the shooter, whilst the shooter has no LOS on him, as he already had his shot placed (for the most part).

as for nametags, I dont understand why a simple drop off point isnt in the game. nametags drop off after 50m. that would solve most peopls issues with them

That's a good idea because nametags try to compensate for the lack of facial recognition you'd get in real life.

As others said i think the nametags ar just a big cheat straight off.

I don't care about 3rdp or CH, altough i think sidechat is useful. Actually found an ingame partner on one of the few servers that still have it enabled. If there wasn't side chat we would have probably never met on the server, or just shot at each other because one of us would feel threatened by the other (altough i try to never shoot on sight and communicate first from a safe position).

But please make some sort of nametags that have the range of direct chat, so you at least know the name of someone / can recognize group members.

Sidechat is something very useful for survivors and something very harmful for bandits. In real life some groups of survivors have a radio, maybe make a radio item for the game? You could find a radio and listen to it or talk to it. It could be quite common as it is in real life. Also this way if you got killed by a bandit you couldn't straight away rat him out as you lose your radio on death. Radio could also be a stationary item located in some places of the map.

And I think it should be a text radio or something since otherwise everyone would just talk over eachother.
