TheHunan 2 Posted March 25, 2014 How big is the normal patch? 100 MB? 1.5 GB? How much does internet connections play on this game? Was Beta testing ESO and my slow internet did not have much game lag.... 1MB connection (working on geting it fixed) How often are you not able to play? (server down / crashing)
Aamunkajo 110 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Usually new patch to stable stage is <500MB, fix patches are smaller. Network is needed but more likely its your computer which causes lag issues (or the server which is 90% of the cases). You are able to play almost anytime. Check devtracker to know when servers are down, but experimental servers are usually more often down. Edited March 25, 2014 by Aamunkajo
Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 25, 2014 The patches aren't too big, I get awful speeds from Steam and they usually don't take too long. The game does use up a fair amount of bandwidth while playing though, more than most other games. It's comparable to PlanetSide 2 usage-wise, if you've ever played that. gerbilschooler 229 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the input. I also have Win XP. Hope it will play on that till I can get Win 7.I don't believe that Windows XP is supported. Sorry, mate. you'll have to at least wait till you get Windows 7 Edit: There may be workarounds to get it to work on XP... I have not looked into it myself, but I'd imagine where there's a will there's a way. But windows XP is not supported and it will not "just work" with that OS Edited March 25, 2014 by GafMast
Guest Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) WinXP is afaik not offical supported, but i managed to get it runnin on 2 PCs - tbh i just installed and added -winxp on launch option. The other XP-machine didn't need that launchoption either. Just as a sidenote, the XP-Support from microsoft ends at 8th of april, highly recommended to switch on a newer OS. makomachine 263 Posted March 25, 2014 This game takes a pretty fresh pc to run well. I've got two friends that I'd love to play it with but they aren't up to proper specs at this point. It likely will get better as it enters beta phase and final release, but you likely will need a new OS regardless.
