This video is about total immersion. Put on your headphones and feel what it's like to be hunted... 

It was filmed in a full Hardcore server. I've taken the microphone track out, and put a low long note for suspense. It just didn't feel right without music.

 

I was coming from a long lone-wolf stay in the north, looting and getting healthy. I brought this character from the brink of death because he is the same toon I played in 'The Egmont Sniper' video. To be honest, I thought I was looking at Zelenogorsk in the video. This is how disoriented I was...

What else could I have done better? Are there some escape and evade techniques that I could learn to improve a situation like this, in my favour?

This was the most exhilarating experience in this game to date: 'Hunting With Hemingway'.

Grats on taking it like a man, I would've ran until I hit the debug plains in the north lol, and then waited an hour to make sure I wasn't going to get ganked while logging off.

hardcore is intense sometimes... if you knew you were being hunted, i am sure the nerves may have been a contributing factor with the slip-ups in the end

It is of course a bit difficult when you don't know from which direction you were fired upon initially. But speed and surprise (unpredictability) are always good terms to apply, and a general sort of idea from there they are will have to do. Get out of the line of fire and then move and keep moving to outflank them (that is ending up having a view of largely the same area you were ambushed in, but from an unexpected direction).

 

Getting into cover like that is only really useful if you want to completely avoid them (if you hadn't moved from that tree they would probably just have passed you by without seeing you) or if you are more certain from which direction they will appear, so you can welcome them with a surprise ambush yourself. The video shows that you expected them from almost the direct opposite direction from where they actually appeared.
