Barricading doors and other suggestions

Recommended Posts

1. Barracading Doors

Multiple times I get chased by zombies and have no way to get them to stop following, so I eventually decide to run into a building. This starts out okay, until I remember that, by some miracle of ability, the undead are able to open doors in DayZ. After watching cynicalbrits video on DayZ, I can understand why Rocket had the doors able to be opened by Zeds, but when I run into a building to save myself, it's a bit unforgiving to give me no time to even grab a hatchet. Thus, I think we should replace the ability for Zombies to open closed doors with the ability to attack the doors until they eventually run out of "health" or strength and swing open. This could also be balanced out by making it an activity which attracts zombies.

2. No-clipping Zombies

This isn't so much an idea as something that I think should become one of the priorities to fix. Often I will be exploring a town and pass by a factory. I'll feel safe as I don't see any zeds, right until one bursts out a wall and sprints directly towards me. This should be fixed one of two ways, either one, find a way to stop this from happening, or two, find a way for it to make a legitimate hole in the wall, and a noise, thus alerting players to hacking zeds, and allowing a way to make a quick escape.

3. Finally, FIX THE SPAWN POINTS!

None of this would be as annoying as it actually is if I could spawn in a location where the loot did not consist only of empty cans. If I could even find just a cheap makarov then I could survive the hacking zeds, and trapping houses. But whenever I spawn All I find are a bunch of empty houses, and the only caches of items I ever find are the ones hidden in ridiculous areas. I've played this game for about 3 days and haven't even found a pistol.

Besides those things this looks to be an exceptionally fun game, and I look forward to the future version. Hope to see you guys in the field
