Rain effects?

Recommended Posts

So with the next patch you get wet.. but does this effect you at all? Like slow you down or damage cloths? And if they do how to you dry off, by going inside? i know there is no fire right now..well i think there is no fire. So does the rain just make you wet right now with no point to it? or is there more to it?

I don't think it actually DOES anything, I think it was just included as a concept. They'll probably fill the "wet"/"soaked" qualities in later with some actual penalties/consequences.

I'm always staying out of the rain just to practice what it may do later. At some point, you may become sick if you get soaked, or cold, which may even lead to hyperthermia (the latter I pulled out of my hiney, but I'm trying to think realistic survival here^^)

Right now, it doesn't do anything except give you those status updates damp / wet / soaked.

Just really, just for practice, see how long and strong rain lasts, hide under a tree as soon as the first drops fall, just play it on the safe side so it becomes second nature once that update hits when it actually does do something ;-)

For that matter, is it possible to get sick as it stands now? My character hasn't been sick since the first few days of the standalone. I keep picking up Vitamins and Antibiotics, but I never have a reason to use them.

Once you stay dry for about 15 minutes, you should be good to go again... When I am soaked, all I want is to start a nice widdle fire in a log cabin and sit there and listen to the thunder and rain with a nice glass of wine. Or Pipsi, for that matter :-)

There is actually a source of fire. The portable gas one. I recall reading somewhere that it did dry off boots back a few weeks. Might try it on a jacket for example (When soaking wet/Damp indicator is active.)
