Spikee187 0 Posted June 25, 2012 So it had come to this, relatively fully geared and on the verge of death. Just above 3k life after being knocked down (for the dumb length) and fought my way out. I was alive but barely when I last logged out. It's funny before I logged back in I had accepted death. Then I logged in and a self realization occurred. This is my character, I don't want to see him die not like this. (Due to my own stupidity, I had accidentally stashed my matches) So I decided if I am going down it will be on my terms. Into Cherno I went blurry screen and all. In search of matches I went from house to house eating everything I could find. Fortunately I found pain killers because my aim was shot from my previous encounter. Shooting was everywhere around me and though I was paranoid beyond belief I felt progress. My screen had a little more color, the shakes were gone, and my blood had increased by almost double. Matches were no where to be found though, and I stuck around much longer than I should have... A player needed aid and so did I, so I figured what do I have to lose at this point. Unfortunately we never met up I did run past another player being chased by a horde of zombies. I was in no condition to help so I left the immediate area. I decided I would go to the fire station for one last sweep. I go and should have realized something amiss with all the doors closed. I open the door and stand in shock as I see 8 players in there. They were far more prepared than I. At least half opened fire on me and I immediately dropped dead. Once more into the fray, into the last good fight I'll ever know.
SystemiK 366 Posted June 25, 2012 Once more into the fray' date=' into the last good fight I'll ever know.[/quote']Just watched that movie last night....I think it's moments like yours which really make this game. In most other games it would have been entirely meaningless because there are very few (if any) consequences to be found in them. It really pays off big to have such an investment into a character doesnt it? Considering your outlook on the situation and it's outcome, I can tell you are going to be one of the people who does not let anything get under your skin and just have fun with it. Spikee187 0 Posted June 25, 2012 Well something I realized that makes death so much less painful is how I treat a fresh character as opposed to one that made it through lets call its the coastal hazing. If I have nothing to lose the game is so much less stressful. I take unnecessary risks, I go in places I shouldn't and it's all one big gamble. After I have some time and equipment built up, I feel like an old man that experience dictates my choices and ask myself questions like "Do I really need it" or "How many gun shots was that". It's nice to be able to enjoy the carefree part of the game once in a while.
