Farm animals & mountable horses

Recommended Posts

I was just thinking that there are a lot of farms around the map.  Naturally farm animals would be pretty abundant.  I just think it would be cool if it were possible to capture horses all wild west style with a lasso & train them to be a mount.  I have always loved games that allow for horse travel but very few allow for using the horse the way people use horses.  The ability to still do all the regular things with your hands while mounted would be great, like waving, shooting, melee combat and archery.  I found that the mounted system of games like Oblivion and Skyrim are totally broken because you can't swing a sword from horseback.  We've been doing that for thousands of years.  Anyhow this is just food for thought to the developers.  I hope you guys read this and are like "that's a sweet idea" but if not that's cool too.  The best way to run this would be to make horses hard to catch rather then running up to a random horse and hopping on it.  In a zombie infested world I'd assume that the horses would go wild pretty fast so catching them and retraining them to be saddled shouldn't be an easy task for any player & would drastically increase the sense of reward and the desire to keep that horse safe and well looked after.  What are your thoughts on this everyone?  Do you like this idea?

Search function is needed.

By the way, you can indeed shoot and swing a sword on horseback in Skyrim...

I should know, lvl. 50 Nord with all the Daedric artifacts + the best obtainable armor.

Aw yesh.
